$200M Ansel Adams garage sale find? PDF Print E-mail

CNN reports today that a collector has unearthed $200,000,000 of long-lost Ansel Adams negatives.

Rick Norsigian, of Fresno, Calif., reportedly picked up the box of glass negatives for the princely sum of $45 at a garage sale.

That was 10 years ago.

After spending the next decade searching for answers, a Beverly Hills appraiser working with a photography expert have deemed the work to be indeed that of the world-famous nature photographer.

"It truly is a missing link of Ansel Adams and history and his career," said David W. Streets, the appraiser and art dealer who is hosting an unveiling of the photographs at his Beverly Hills, California, gallery Tuesday.

Police confirm body found at ISU is missing student Jon Lacina PDF Print E-mail

Officials with the Iowa State University Department of Public Safety confirmed this afternoon that the body found on ISU’s old dairy farm is that of missing student Jon Lacina.

Lacina's body was found at approximately 8:30 p.m. Wednesday by an ISU police officer who was searching the area. The body was  in an “isolated room” in the building, which is located approximately a mile from central campus across the street from the Towers residential halls.

ISU Police Director Jerry Stewart said it may be a matter of days or weeks before investigators learn what caused Lacina’s death.

Grade schooler with autism makes gains PDF Print E-mail

The 10-year-old graduated from Birney Elementary Tuesday and will be starting middle school in the fall. But he has more of an uphill battle than other children his age.

Nicolas was diagnosed with autism as a toddler.

“He’s doing really well,” said Nicolas’ mother, Ruth Villaneda, 35. “He’s well-liked by his classmates.”
